Hi, I am Sarah. I am a Wife, a Mom of 2 energetic children, a Belly casting artist and a Doula. A Doula has the honour of being invited into your birth space, it is a beautiful experience each and every time. I am there to educate and support Mom and Dad both physically and emotionally as they go along their journey however they choose. I am not only available for Moms who want an all natural, drug free birth, that is your choice, and my job is to help you get the birth you want. I also have been casting for about 6 years and I absolutely love to work with the Moms to be and create a one of a kind piece of art that is a beautiful reminder of the precious months of pregnancy! I hope to be able to work with you and your family and make lasting memories really soon!

Sarah you were AWESOME!!. I was in for baby #3 and thought since I was going to refuse the pain meds this time ( they didn't do much the other times and I have back problems preventing me from having an epidural) I thought maybe a doula would be a good idea. I was induced like the other two times and if I had been drinking my red raspberry leaf tea, maybe it would have gone as fast as the other times (40 min and 20 min pushing times) But who can complain really with only six hours of labour from iv to afterbirth. Sarah was with me earlier in the week when I had a few "false" alarms. She stuck with me throughout the day. My water broke at 8am and the inducement wasn't added until 5pm. I discovered that the pains meds really did take the edge off. I was really glad to have Sarah next to me when the pain finally got to me, whispering reassurances and helping me relax through guided imagery. I almost fell asleep between contractions! Thank you, Sarah! I didn't know what to expect from a doula. But I know that if I ever have baby #4 I will want you there.

Our experience with Sarah was incredible from the first moment we met her. Sarah had all the time in the world for us before, during and after the birth, which helped us to stay positive and encouraged us to have confidence in our birthing and parenting skills. She shared various tips and tricks with us and even offered us some of her own equipment including a TENS machine, a birthing ball and her acupressure expertise. I had an interesting labour in that, I spent Christmas Eve in false labour. Of course I thought it was real, so Sarah came over to our house at about 9pm and stayed until 6:30am on Christmas Day. At that point we realized it wasn’t going to happen and so, I told her she should go home. She never seemed to mind the fact that we had her up all night on Christmas Eve and was beyond supportive through it all. That experience in itself was worth having a Doula. My REAL labour kicked in three days later at 4:30am. Sarah met us at the hospital and was brilliant during the entire thing. She knew what I should and shouldn’t do, she spoke calmly to me even though I was a bit on edge, and she helped me to succeed my goal of giving birth naturally. If it had just been my husband and I, I do not think our experience would have been nearly as wonderful, since neither of us knew what we were doing! To top it off, Sarah massaged my feet for me while visitors came and went. She was in no rush to leave us after the baby was born and even spent time helping me learn how to breast feed for the first time.
After we were discharged, our baby was diagnosed with jaundice and as a result we had to supplement her with formula. The baby didn’t seem to be getting enough food from me. Sarah came over to our house countless times to continue to help me with moral support, breast feeding, and resources that would help me through such a difficult time. She reassured me that I was doing well and gave me the confidence to power through with my goal to solely breast feed my baby.
This testimonial does not do justice to the praise I have for Sarah and her skills as a Doula. She is amazing at what she does and anyone would be so lucky to have her. In fact, I am reluctant to share! After having her as my Doula for the incredible birth of our daughter Audrey, I can easily say that I will be using her again when the time comes for baby #2.

Just had my second child, and I am SO happy that I had a doula with this one! Sarah is so attentive, and picks up so quickly on your energy and mood. My husband was beyond impressed with how much knowledge she has. I can't believe the difference some counter pressure changes how the contractions affect you. If I have another child in the future, I know exactly who to call for support :) thank you a million times over for helping us bring Thomas into the world :)
